Elio Bello, Head Coach

Born and raised in Napoli, Italy, Head Coach Elio Bello brings over 25 years of professional player and coaching experience to the team, including earning honor of 2007 Coach of the Year in the USL.  As a former championship soccer player in San Diego and Europe, Bello knows what it takes it takes to play and win at the highest level.  He has a strong reputation as a player’s coach and understands the training, travel and performance responsibilites of the professional soccer athlete. Bello will lead SD United into the 2008 summer season with the goal of entertaining the fans with good sportsmanship, class and victory.

Manny Sondoval , Assistant Coach

Manny comes to United with 28 years of vast coaching experience. He has coached High School Soccer, Track and Cross Country at Monte Vista and Valhalla High Schools where his teams won league and C.I.F Section Titles. He was named league and C.I.F. Coach of the Year. He has also coached club soccer at El Cajon Hotspurs and San Diego Surf Soccer Clubs where his teams won league and Presidio Cup titles. Manny was also named coach of the year at San Diego Surf. Recently he was inducted into the San Diego Hall of Champions – Coaching Legends Hall of Fame.
